Jotirao set himself to the task of seeking educational reforms. He was convinced that the women should avail themselves of modern education. At the time, even the Brahmins were opposed to educating their women. He decided to open a school for girls, for, if a woman were educated, the home could become a school where the educated mother could teach her children. In this research paper in tried to look into the Mahatma Phule’s educational philosophy and his works related to female education.
